Christian Harvey Named Concertmaster of the Mesquite Symphony Orchestra
The Mesquite Symphony Orchestra is proud to announce Christian Harvey as its new Concertmaster beginning with the upcoming season.
A dynamic and versatile violinist and violist based in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, Christian brings a deep commitment to artistry and community to his new role. Originally from Humble, Texas, he began studying the violin at the age of 11 and has since cultivated a vibrant career as an orchestral leader, chamber musician, and educator.
Christian holds a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from the University of North Texas, as well as a Master of Music and a Performance Diploma in Violin Performance from Southern Methodist University. His primary teachers include Philip Lewis, Alexander Sitkovetsky, and Barbara Sudweeks.
In addition to his work with the Mesquite Symphony Orchestra, Christian serves as Co-Concertmaster of the Mansfield Philharmonic and is a founding member of the Amicizia Trio. The trio, mentored by members of the Viano, Marmen, and Isidore String Quartets, has performed throughout Texas and Louisiana to enthusiastic acclaim.
Outside of performance, Christian maintains a thriving private studio where he teaches both violin and viola. When not on stage or in the classroom, he enjoys spending time with friends, cooking, playing video games, and exploring photography.
